  • Short plant description HU360 in culture

Diameter of the culture plant  is ca. 5 to 6 cm. 
Plant height with cephalium 4 to 5 cm. 
The colour of the epidermis is at first green and later red/brown. 
Number of ribs 12 to 18. 
Number of areoles per rib is ca. 12 to 14 on plants with cephalium. 
The shape of the areoles is round. 
The number of radial spines is 8 to10. 
The length of the spines is 0.2 to 0,4 cm. 
The shape of the spines is recurved backwards to the plant, the colour is grayish. 
The colour of the cephalium is between white and light brown. 
The colour of the fruit is white. 
The position of the stigma is half-way up the secundairy stamens.

  • Remarks

It's better to graft the seedling very young.
Minimum temperature 8°C.

  • Habitat

    North-west of  Grao Mogol in the Serra do Barrao in Minas Gerais, Brazil at an altitude of about 1000m. In the same area of D. (pseudo)insignis. The soil consists of quartzide-sand and gravel.
