Remarks and origin.
The plant is from the collection of Ronald
de Zeeuw at Gouda and cultivated of seed of an imported plant by the Fa.
Uhlig, Germany.
The plant was imported by the fa. Uhlig with the
name D. estevesii from the fa. Knize of Peru.
Dr. P. Braun recognizes this plant as a habitat
variety of D. estevesii.
Short plant description
Diameter of the culture plant is ca. 12 cm.
Plant heigth without cephalium 6 cm. The colour of the epidermis is
dark green. The number of ribs is 14. The number of areoles per rib is 5 on plants
with cephalium. The shape of the areoles is round. The number of radial spines is 5. The length of the 2 spines upwards
ca. 1 cm. The 2 sidewards and 1 downwards 2-3 cm. The shape of the spines
is almost straight and the colour is brownish with a black tip. At the top
of the plant the spines near the cephalium are black. The colour of the cephalium is
light brown. The coloour of the fruit is cream. The flowers are white. The position of the stigma is at the primary stamens.
