  • Short plant description E2 in culture

Diameter of this culture plant  is ca. 12 cm. 
Plant height without cephalium 8 cm. 
The colour of the epidermis is shiny dark green. 
Number of ribs 11.
Number of areoles per rib is 4 to 6 on plants with cephalium. 
The shape of the areoles is round/oval at first with cream coloured wool, later naked. 
The number of radial spines is 5. 
The length of the spines is 2 to 3 cm. The colour is reddish/brown.
The shape of the strong spines is almost straight and the colour is red/ brown to gray/brown. The colour of the flower is white.

 

  • Remarks

HU632; Habitat: Cachoeira Dourada, Goias, Brazil, is as far as we know  the same the type of plant or a variety of D.estevesii E2.

  • Habitat.

At San Cyrilo, Bolivia, west of the road from Porto Suarez to Serro Mutun, on the borders of Bolivia and Brazil, along the Rio Paranaiba at an altitude of 280 to ca. 650 m. growing in clay and rocky soil.

Remarks and origin.

The plant is from the collection of Ronald de Zeeuw at Gouda and cultivated of seed of an imported plant by the Fa. Uhlig, Germany.

The plant was imported by the fa. Uhlig with the name D. estevesii from the fa. Knize of Peru.

Dr. P. Braun recognizes this plant as a habitat variety of  D. estevesii.

Short plant description

Diameter of the culture plant  is ca. 12 cm. Plant heigth without cephalium 6 cm.  The colour of the epidermis is dark green.  The number of ribs is 14. The number of areoles per rib is 5 on plants with cephalium. The shape of the areoles is round.  The number of radial spines is  5. The length of the 2 spines upwards ca. 1 cm. The 2 sidewards and 1 downwards 2-3 cm. The shape of the spines is almost straight and the colour is brownish with a black tip. At the top of the plant the spines near the cephalium are black. The colour of the cephalium is light brown. The coloour of the fruit is cream. The flowers are white. The position of the stigma is at the primary stamens.

We don't know the exact field number or growth area.
