Short plant description HU457 in
culture
Diameter of the culture plant is about 20 cm.
Plant height (without cephalium) 11 cm. The colour of the epidermis is
green. with at the tip of the areoles some reddish colour. Number of ribs ca. 15. Number areoles per rib is 4-5 on plants with a cephalium.
The shape of the areoles is oval. The number of the radial spines is 5-7. One of the spines is directed
downwards ca. 3 cm long, higher up 1 pairs sidewards 1,5 -2 cm and 1-2
pair upwards 0,5 - 1 cm long. The shape of the spines is straight . The
colour of the spines is pale yellow. The
cephalium is cream coloured. The position of the stigma is
at the primary stamens.

Plants in culture grow and sprout easily, but
it can take up to ten years for the cephalium to be formed.

This seed cultivated plant was part of the collection of Ronald de Zeeuw
in Gouda. Holland. Long
ago he bought from Fa. Uhlig in Germany a few import plants with this
field number. (Knize).
The plants give small white flowers and
there are only a few seeds
in the fruits.

Plant height without cephalium 9 cm.
The colour of the epidermis is gray green.
Number ribs 16.
Number areoles per rib is 4 on plants with cephalium.
The shape of the areoles is round.
The number of radial spines is 5.
The length of the spines is 0,5 to 2,5 cm.
The shape of the spines is straight to slightly bended and the colour is
pale-gray.
The colour of the cephalium is cream/gray.
The colour of the fruit is cream/white.
The position of the stigma as to the stamen is at the bottom.
